Re: What time period....
Fri, May 7, 2004 - 10:58 AMThe Roman Britain from BAck and Forth would be extremely funny.
Perhaps also something like Anglo-Saxon England, or England after the Norman conquest. -
-
Re: What time period....
Fri, May 7, 2004 - 1:24 PMYes, Roman Britian from "Back and Forth" was hilarious! Especially the way that their skirts kept getting shorter and shorter as each new Roman officer stepped into the scene. Hilarious!
Though...also from "Back and Forth", what's wrong with a Robin Hood era special? They did the Dickens Christmas thing, so it doesn't all have to be non-fiction, right? -

Thu, September 9, 2004 - 1:03 PMWell, they did WWI...I wouldn't mind more of the Early Victorian period (as seen in the Christmas Carol).

Re: What time period....
Sat, June 19, 2004 - 7:23 PMI would want to give some more attention to the Cavalier Years.
After losing the Civil War in England, Edmund could flee to France and get beaten up by musketeers, or big-nosed men he said the wrong thing to. -
-
Re: What time period....
Mon, June 21, 2004 - 9:15 AMTrue..."The Cavalier Years" was way too short, but as it wasn't a regular episode and a charity program, I guess that was all the time alotted them. Though...didn't anyone else really like the King's demeanor in that one? He seemed like such a nice guy, I felt bad for him. Damn that demon Cromwell! Though, it's a bummer about Baldrick...they probably executed him, don't ya think??? -
-
Re: What time period....
Thu, September 9, 2004 - 8:25 PMGoing waaaaay back...years agao I heard a rumor that there had been talks of doing a Blackadder in or around the time of Christ (with Edmund as a thirteenth disciple).
Probably a rumor inspired by one too many viewings of Life of Brian (not sure if that's actually possible), but still, I think it could be interesting. -
-
Re: What time period....
Thu, September 16, 2004 - 10:17 PMI think it'd be hilarious in a more contemporary time frame. Try to imagine R & B hanging out in London of the "Swinging Sixties" trying to manage an awful Spinal Tap-ish rock band.

Re: What time period....
Sun, November 28, 2004 - 5:38 PMIn real life I read that King Charles Really acted very much the Way ye see him in CY though he could be indisisive and terribly shy! a commited family man! unlike his dear Daddy who was a flaming Homosexual!Poor King Charles
Not Dissing King James the first by any mean though! -
-
Re: What time period....
Tue, November 30, 2004 - 8:17 AMAh, no James I bashing? Well, why not??? The flaming homosexual that gave us the worst translation of the Bible ever. That's fodder for days! -
-
Re: What time period....
Tue, November 30, 2004 - 8:48 AMand horrible poetry man that guy was bad Ptooey!
I heard his hygene was atrocious and his hands were dark and velvety
I see transiants on the street that fit that billing!
The victorian idea is great though! Hearing Edmund describe his exploits if afrika prior to the great war sounded a lot more Humorous
or even having a close ancester foul thing up a little bit earlier like during the Crimean War or getting mixed up with the Voortreekers at Blood River(Dutch I know )sorry havent had my coffee -

Re: What time period....
Thu, February 16, 2006 - 10:36 AMI personally would like to see Blackadder during the Crusades. Baldrick would make a great squire and Blackadder a knavish knight!
I can picture him constantly complaining about the heat, the natives, being away from home, trying to get out of battles. Ooooo, following Richard the Lionheart on the 3rd Crusade would be perfect! -
-
Re: What time period....
Thu, March 2, 2006 - 2:48 PMI'm with Ian - the Crusades would be hilarious!
Of course, there's something to be said for "Black Adder meets Red Dwarf"...

Re: What time period....
Fri, March 3, 2006 - 11:18 AMCan you just imagine BA's take on the honor code? People committing suicide around him right and left, because he's convinced them that the effects of his greed and laziness are their fault.

Re: What time period....
Fri, May 19, 2006 - 3:18 PMBlack Adder in colonial India, transported to Australia, and the sixties would be good too: perfect antidote to Austin Powers. -

Re: What time period....
