In a recent episode of Scrubs, Dr. Cox and the interns are discussing the series House, and Dr. Cox refers to Hugh Laurie's character as a "doctor-slash-supermodel," and to Hugh Laurie as a "model." Now don't get me wrong -- I, too, find House drop dead sexy, but my main image of Hugh Laurie is and always shall be as his characters in Blackadder, and I simply can't bring myself to think of the actor who played Prince Ludwig, Prince Regent, and Lt. Barleigh as a "supermodel."
That said, if Hugh Laurie walked in here on his cane with a five o'clock shadow, I would *totally* wreck him. He'd need a wheelchair by the time we were done.

Re: Hugh Laurie: Male model?
Wed, September 19, 2007 - 7:28 AMDidi you hear the story of the Fox casting executive who said ( I'm paraphrasing here): " I don't want any more British actors! Get me a great AMERICAN actor - like that Hugh Laurie guy!"
And he is a supreme hottie. -

Re: Hugh Laurie: Male model?
Thu, September 20, 2007 - 10:16 AMAh, but - Is he more scrumptious with the Brit accent or the American?
(and yes, it's hard to erase the quintessential Bertie Wooster of all time from one's consciousness) -

Re: Hugh Laurie: Male model?
Thu, September 20, 2007 - 12:04 PMBritish accents are *always* more scrumptious than American accents. He should drop the Prince Regent inflection, though. -

Re: Hugh Laurie: Male model?
Wed, October 3, 2007 - 8:07 PMOh my GOD, I want House. I don't know how much longer I can stand it. Brilliant, acerbic, deathly witty, sexy beyond description...
I might actually have to stop watching the show. -

Re: Hugh Laurie: Male model?
Tue, October 9, 2007 - 10:57 AMI actually like Bertie better. I don't know if it's because I've known Laurie as a british comedy actor first . I've tried to watch House but I just don't like him. I even liked him as the Dad in Stuart Little -

Re: Hugh Laurie: Male model?
Tue, October 9, 2007 - 5:00 PMMost times I can only see the Prince Regent...but he's good! I sometimes forget the Prince now when I'm watching ol' House. The American accent helps there. -

Re: Hugh Laurie: Male model?
Wed, October 10, 2007 - 7:19 AMWell, he did play the dry pessimist in SENSE & SENSIBILITY, so the transition to Dr. House wasn't such a stretch for me. -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
Re: Hugh Laurie: Male model?
Wed, October 10, 2007 - 5:57 PMI had an *awesome* sex dream about House last night... for the first few minutes. Then he started playing a dark headgame designed to dominate and humiliate me, and eventually leave me permanently sexually frustrated. So, basically, he stayed in character.
I would have preferred it if he could have broken character just this once. -

Re: Hugh Laurie: Male model?
Thu, October 11, 2007 - 5:19 AMWell maybe it's better than having him assume his Prince Regent characteristics. :) "Sausage time!" -

Indeed. :) -

Re: Hugh Laurie: Male model?
Wed, November 7, 2007 - 1:05 AMJust a bit of trivia: Hugh Laurie has a cameo voice on the Family Guy episode "One if by Clam, Two if by Sea." He's a bar patron near the beginning of the episode, and his line is, "Or a ruddy nice plum puddin'."
I have no idea why they gave him such a piddling role.

Thu, September 20, 2007 - 10:45 AMIt's amazing what a bit of Sonny Crockett stubble and a decent haircut can do for a man, I agree.
